Toolstation runs one of the UK’s largest trade counter networks, with over 590 branches from city centres to retail parks across the UK. They came to us with a clear brief. A signage solution that would be sustainable, straightforward to install, and easy to maintain at scale, while consistently reflecting the brand across every location in the estate.
For a business serving trade professionals who rely on knowing exactly what they’re walking into, that consistency had to be absolute. The solution had to work as a system built to grow with a business that was opening new branches and refurbishing existing ones at the same time.

We developed a full signage system tailored to their estate profile. Externally, illuminated flex faces and folded trays deliver brand presence on the high street and in retail parks. Inside, a modular counter sign system was designed to work across Toolstation's varying store footprints, so it can be consistently implemented regardless of branch size. Vinyl decals, acrylic lettering, wall graphics, and A-boards complete the in-store brand experience.
Every element was built as part of a coherent system, not treated individually. We manage the programme of manufacturing and installation against Toolstation's ongoing refurbishment and new-opening calendar, with the same point of contact and delivery team owning the entire project.
The results have since spoken for themselves. Where new signage has been installed, Toolstation has seen a significant increase in footfall and sales, a consistent brand presence delivering measurable commercial impact across every branch.
